Tremron Construction in Palo Alto, CA | Millwright Builders

We install and repair Tremron paver driveways, patios, and retaining walls across Palo Alto as an independent contractor, not a manufacturer affiliate. The one thing that separates Tremron work here from every other Peninsula city is simple: Palo Alto’s heritage-tree ordinance shapes where pavers can go, how deep the base has to be, and whether an installation holds flat through its first three winters. Call (866) 925-0334 for a free estimate on your Tremron project.

Our crews work with Tremron’s Olde Towne, Capri, and Stonegate lines across ZIP codes 94303, 94304, 94306, and 94309. We source directly through Tremron’s Florida manufacturing, so the paver you spec is the paver that goes down, not whatever a local yard happened to have in stock. For full Tremron sales & service details, we keep this landing page updated with the lines we carry and the repair work we take on.

Why Palo Alto Residents Choose Us for Tremron Service

Homeowners here don’t call because pavers are expensive. They call because the last contractor they hired did not understand what happens when you lay a rigid paver system on expansive Peninsula clay under a tree the city says you cannot touch. Noel Castañeda, our owner, spent two decades doing residential work across the Peninsula before founding Millwright Builders, and the lesson he carries into every Tremron job in Palo Alto is the same thing he learned as a kid watching the industrial corridor along the bay in South San Francisco: good structures happen by decision, not by accident.

We carry Tremron’s own edge restraints, joint sand, and polymeric locking sand because the paver dimensions and chamfer profiles are matched to them. Off-brand restraints are where edges fail, and on a Palo Alto driveway with a protected oak twenty feet away, a failed edge is a two-thousand-dollar correction. We would rather do the base right the first time.

Common Tremron Construction Problems We Solve in Palo Alto

Most of the Tremron paver failures we walk into follow the same patterns. The differences here come from local soil, tree cover, and how water moves through a lot during the wet season.

  • Efflorescence bloom on gray and charcoal Olde Towne pavers. We see it most on Palo Alto driveways where joints were sealed before the base cured, trapping moisture from winter rains. The white chalky haze shows up a few months later. Fixing it means letting the base dry, cleaning the surface, and re-sealing properly.
  • Edge-course migration and paver rotation on driveways. Wheels track the same line every day. On under-compacted expansive clay, the outer pavers push outward and the running bond starts to open. This is the most common Tremron driveway failure in Midtown and Crescent Park homes with older, shallow bases.
  • Shear cracking in Capri paver running bond near protected oaks. Palo Alto’s tree ordinance means roots often stay where they are. When a driveway was graded too close, root heave cracks the bond line. We lift the affected section, reinforce the sub-base with deeper compacted aggregate, and re-lay.
  • Color fade and chalking on older Tremron pavers. High-UV summers take their toll, especially on southern exposures with no tree canopy. The paver itself is usually structurally fine. We re-surface joints and re-sand where water has started to infiltrate the bedding layer.
  • Loose joint sand letting water undermine the base. Once joints open, water gets under the pavers and starts washing out the bedding. In Palo Alto’s winter rain pattern, this is a slow failure you do not see until spring when the pavers sink half an inch.

Tremron Service in Palo Alto: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Palo Alto’s heritage-tree ordinance is the thing no generic Tremron page will tell you about, because it does not exist in most places. Here, a mature coast live oak or redwood can block or reshape a whole project. We routinely design paver driveway aprons and patio edges to shift away from protected root zones, then build the sub-base deeper with compacted aggregate so roots do not push the pavers out of plane within a few seasons. On a Crescent Park lot with a mature redwood the tree ordinance would not let us cut within a few feet of the driveway, we hand-tamped a deeper compacted aggregate base and laid Tremron Olde Towne pavers with the edge course set in concrete rather than plastic restraint, keeping the apron clear of the root zone. Two winters of rain later the pavers are still flat and the joints have not opened.

Build it right the first time – the Peninsula weather will find out if you didn’t.

Tremron Models & Products We Service in Palo Alto

We work with the Tremron lines most common on Peninsula homes: the Olde Towne Paver series, the Capri Paver series, Stonegate retaining wall block, and the Kingston Collection for permeable and standard pavers. Each has different joint widths and chamfer profiles, so we match joint sand and polymeric locking sand to the exact line, not the nearest thing at the supply yard. For repairs, we stock Tremron edge restraints and matching pavers locally, which keeps turnaround faster for Palo Alto homeowners when a section needs lifting rather than a full replacement.
