GAF Construction in Ontario, CA | Millwright Builders

Millwright Builders provides independent GAF roofing service across Ontario and nearby areas, from GAF service in Montclair to full tear-offs, wind-damage repairs, and low-slope membrane work. We’re not a GAF-authorized contractor, and we won’t pretend to be. What we bring is hands-on GAF experience across Ontario’s split housing stock, and a documentation habit that matters when Santa Ana winds hit a 1950s tract roof. Call (866) 925-0334 for a free estimate on GAF installation or repair in Ontario.

Why Ontario Residents Choose Us for GAF Service

Most GAF failures we see in Ontario start the same way: a mismatched accessory, a stucco flashing detail nobody re-worked, or a low-slope tie-in that was never going to drain. Knowing GAF’s product lines matters, but knowing which assembly belongs on a postwar stucco ranch in 91762 versus a concrete-tilt warehouse shell off the 60 corridor matters more. That’s the work Noel Castañeda has been doing since his construction trades training at Skyline College and years of Peninsula residential work before founding Millwright Builders. We specify the brand, explain the trade-off, and stand behind the install.

Our crews work with GAF Timberline HDZ, Timberline UHDZ, EverGuard TPO, and Liberty self-adhered systems. We use GAF-branded ridge cap, starter, underlayment, and venting matched to the shingle or membrane system, because mismatched accessories are where premature failures begin. You get independent advice, not a manufacturer pitch. See our full GAF sales & service page for the broader scope.

Common GAF Construction Problems We Solve in Ontario

  • Heat-driven granule loss and curling on Timberline planes. Ontario’s Inland Valley summer heat runs well above the coastal basin, and south- and west-facing shingle planes take the worst of it. We see granule loss that reads like the shingle aged fifteen years in eight, especially on original 1970s tract roofs that were never re-vented for the attic temperatures Ontario actually reaches.
  • Santa Ana wind-lifted and creased tabs at ridge and eave. Postwar Ontario tract decks were often fastened to minimum code of their era, which is not enough for the wind events that roll down the Cajon Pass. We find creased tabs and lifted ridge shingles after every major Santa Ana, most often in the single-story blocks of 91762 and 91764.
  • Failed step and counter flashing at stucco-to-roof transitions. The 1950s-70s stucco tract stock has a recurring weak point where roof planes meet stucco walls. Age and Ontario’s dry heat break down the sealant and flashing, and water tracks behind the stucco long before anyone sees a ceiling stain.
  • Low-slope and flat roof tie-ins that pond and back up. Patio covers, converted garages, and flat additions across Ontario often carry EverGuard or Liberty membranes that were terminated poorly at the transition to the pitched GAF roof. Water ponds at the tie-in, and eventually finds its way into the structure.
  • Poorly vented attics on hot Inland Valley homes. An Ontario attic in August is not a San Bruno attic. Undersized or blocked ventilation shortens shingle life and cooks the deck. When we re-roof in Ontario, we calculate ridge and intake venting for local heat loads, not a generic spec.

GAF Service in Ontario: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Roof

Ontario’s warehouse belt around 91761 sits on former citrus and dairy land, and that history still shows up under a roof. When a GAF roof goes onto a new tilt-up or an addition on that disturbed fill, we’re detailing drainage and flashing around soil conditions and utility surprises a re-roof in the older 91762 and 91764 tracts never encounters. Old grove irrigation lines, settling fill, and slab heave patterns change how a low-slope EverGuard termination should be sequenced and where a scupper or overflow drain actually belongs. A generic Ontario roofing page won’t tell you that. A generic GAF page won’t either. Our crews learn it by pulling up old decking and finding the citrus lines still in the ground under the addition. This is the difference between a roof that drains and a warranty that quietly doesn’t cover the ponding.

GAF Models & Products We Service in Ontario

We install and repair the GAF systems that actually fit Ontario’s housing mix. For steep-slope tract homes and ranch houses, that’s Timberline HDZ architectural shingles, with Timberline UHDZ as the premium upgrade when homeowners want the thicker profile and stronger wind rating. For low-slope sections, patio covers, and flat additions, we work with EverGuard TPO membrane and Liberty self-adhered roll roofing. We match GAF-branded ridge cap, starter, underlayment, and venting to the specific system, and we document the deck, flashing, and ventilation on every job. That documentation is what protects you when a wind or leak claim comes up later.
